Writing Group

Whenever there is a group of writers that would like to use the library as a meeting place, monthly writing sessions can be organized. If you are interested in meeting with other local writers, please email our Library Director and perhaps a meeting can be coordinated. tvcl.director@gmail.com

Process

Outline:

8:20 - Early arrivals can start the free-write and get situated while everyone comes in

8:30 - 8:45 :

Free-write driven by a prompt provided by the host

Prompt examples:

- pictures

- item

- phrases

- themes

- music

- short story sample

- etc.

8:45 – 9:25 :

Critique and read any writing we have been working on:

- fast-writes

- personal projects

- prompt driven stories

- poetry

- etc.

9:25 – 9:30 :

The host will share a take-away prompt or multiple prompts that can be used as an optional starting point for any writing ventures between each meeting
