Hello Book Club!

Our next meeting will be Monday, October 21st at 7:30pm in the Library, Amanda will bring book suggestions and a snack.  We will discuss Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters, there are copies available at the library!

Our next book in November will be The Giver by Lois Lowry -- The Giver, winner of the 1994 Newbery Medal, is an American young adult novel set in a society which at first appears to be utopian but is revealed to be dystopian as the story progresses. The novel follows a 12-year-old boy named Jonas as he struggles with concepts of all the new emotions and things introduced to him: whether they are inherently good, evil, or in between, and whether it is even possible to have one without the other.

Review of Crocodile on the Sandbank from GoodReads.com:
Set in 1884, this is the first installment in what has become a beloved bestselling series. At thirty-two, strong-willed Amelia Peabody, a self-proclaimed spinster, decides to use her ample inheritance to indulge her passion, Egyptology. On her way to Egypt, Amelia encounters a young woman named Evelyn Barton-Forbes. The two become fast friends and travel on together, encountering mysteries, missing mummies, and Radcliffe Emerson, a dashing and opinionated archaeologist who doesn't need a woman's help -- or so he thinks.
